WHO ARE WE?

Bir Music Festival is India's only woman owned music festival and the largest original music and art platform in Himachal Pradesh accredited by the Tourism Ministry Of Himachal Pradesh. 

Music and entertainment are the most emerging trends today and being one of the first movers in the industry gives us the advantage of experimenting and exploring. With this, we have become the only festival in India to host completely original music in live format. The festival stands strong as a sustainable entity with negligible carbon footprint. 

As a Bo-annually celebrated original music and art festival, we hold a unique position and proposition for emerging original artists. We have successfully hosted 11 seasons so far and staged over 450 original musicians for 11,000+ live audiences to reach over 22 million audience digitally. 

With an aim to host over 100 original emerging artists in 2025, we are beginning a new voyage this year. 

THE BIR MUSIC STUDIO 

This being our venture to enter into digital space in the domain of original music and its blend with culture and traditions of India. We are all set on a voyage to make the first ever mountain music open studio that will curate the best music album by collaboration of multi-genre artists from across the country. 

The coming 12th season of India will host the most unique 50 emerging musicians and 30 artisans of the country to form a fiesta that is never seen before in the country.

Alakhananda Sharma

Alakhananda, an accomplished engineer and a postgraduate in Marketing from Mumbai University, began her thriving career in the bustling city of Mumbai in 2018. However, driven by an innate calling for a more purposeful and serene life, she made the bold decision to leave the corporate world behind. Embracing her adventurous spirit, she relocated to the mountains, where she founded a backpacker hostel and cultivated a fulfilling married life. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic—life’s ultimate test—Alakhananda's resilience and vision continue to inspire those around her.

During the challenging times of the pandemic, Alakhananda faced profound professional, financial, and personal losses while preparing to become a mother. Out of this period of adversity, the Bir Music Festival was born—a labor of love that she fondly calls her first child.

 

This festival isn’t merely a project but a manifestation of her lifelong dream: to celebrate and promote music so that no artist, including the singer within her, is ever silenced again. BMF beautifully embodies this philosophy, bringing together people to celebrate music, art, culture, and forgotten traditions. It’s a harmonious blend of creativity, networking, and soulful rejuvenation, offering a vibrant space where people can meet, embrace the new, and rediscover the magic of togetherness.
