About the event
We started Battle for the Troops in 2015 with two goals in mind. First we wanted to provide competitors, and their families and guests, with at great competition experience. The second goal was to raise money for veteran and local charities. Since our family started this event we have raised over $2000 for organizations like Wounded Warriors Project, Gary Sinise Foundation, Turning Pointe Autism Foundation, Inspire A Generation Foundation and making care packages for an Illinois State National Guard unity stationed in Afghanistan.
As a veteran of the USAF and a father of two USMC veterans, I am proud to help out the men and women of of our armed forces. With the help of sponsors, like yourself, we will be able to decrease our overhead, which will allow us to donate more to the charities. At the same time we will be your bridge between your organization and our consumer base, providing you a possible new market to display your products or services.
Why should you sponsor?
Being a part of our event and sport will give you new exposure to an audience base that you may otherwise not have. By supporting our event you will establish a new bridge between our audience and your products and/or services, using our event as that bridge.
Last year we did a poll and asked 800 competitors and family members if a sponsor was to sell a product or service that you currently use would you switch over to them. 33% said they definetly would and 39% said they most likely would. When asked if a sponsor sold a product or service that they didn't have but was looking to purchase in the future, 38% said definetly would while 38% said most likely would.
Plus your financial assitance will not only build your audience base within our community, but you will be helping us support a great cause for veterans. All packages are negotiable and we have other demographics and psychographics available upon request.
Jeremy TalbottMy name is Jeremy Talbott. I am U.S. Air Force veteran and a proud father of two U.S. Marine veterans. I have been involved in the martial arts for over 40 years and 35 of those years have been spent as a competitor in sport martial arts, where I have won multiple national and regional championships and gold medals. I have also had the honor of coaching multiple regional and national champions including my two sons who are co-promoters of our event.
I have been blessed to be mentored in this field by one of the most recognizable people in sport martial arts, John Sharkey, President of the American Karate Association and promoter of the AKA Warrior Cup. This type of mentorship has allowed me to move into positions such as director and coordinator of several regional, national, and world tournaments including AKA Warrior Cup and the US Open International Hanmadang, for over 20 years. I am also director of the American Karate Association sport martial arts circuit and the AKA's Korean martial arts liason.
Because of my experinece as both competitor and organizer, I have established a family friendly event that caters to the competitor directly. Allowing them to have an enjoyable time and motivating them to come back the following year.
